This past weekend was a very busy one jam packed with events in both Cambridge and Port Dover leading to our October wedding. Saturday was our photo shoot with Lyn from Pink Bliss Photography in Kitchener. We went to Port Dover for the shoot since my Mom's family originates from there and I have spent many weekends in the area. We had our photos taken in Powell Park, getting ice cream from Knechtel's booth, at the Pier and on the beach. The session lasted 3 hours and was LOTS of fun! Afterwards, we had to go for the traditional Port Dover pearch dinner from The Fisherman's Catch (also owned by Knechtel foods). We then drove home and met some friends at Monty's on Queen for some tapas and drinks. A perfect way to end such an awesome day!
Sunday was an equally busy day. Keith's parents had gone to Stratford for the weekend and were coming to see us on their way home. We took them out to Westfield Heritage Village, where we are having our wedding ceremony, then went sampling with them and my parents at the Galt Country Club. I must say, the food is always superb at the country club, making it difficult to choose the meal for the wedding.
The one thing I really wanted to do this weekend is visit the Kinsmen Carnival that was taking place in Riverside Park all weekend. Alas, there is only so much you can cram into a few days! I'm ready for another long weekend!
