As you may know if you read my blog post about the King Tut Exhibit at the AGO, Keith's parents bought us an AGO membership for Christmas. Along with the membership, they bought tickets for the whole family to see famous Egyptologist Dr. Zahi Hawass speak at the University of Toronto's Convocation Hall. He spoke there this past Saturday night to a full house of people of all ages. The whole thing lasted about an hour and a half with him talking and showing photos of finding various tombs and things they are currently excavating (including a spot they believe to be the final resting place of Cleopatra and Mark Anthony) and the recent discoveries about King Tut's death and his family. The whole was quite fascinating to me since I find ancient Egypt to be quite fascinating. Unfortunately, there is not another date set for him to come speak again, but you can check out his website by clicking here.
